STEP has more than 21,000 members in around 100 countries.
Our global headquarters are in London, UK, and all members belong to a local branch/chapter that provides professional development and opportunities to network at a local level. We have more than 100 branches and chapters across the world - join here.
- Africa and Arabia

We currently have five branches across South Africa, Arabia and the Indian Ocean. The amount of members in this area makes up approximately 2 per cent of the global STEP membership.
- Asia

We currently have four branches across Asia, in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The members in this area make up approximately 6 per cent of the global STEP membership.
- Australasia

We currently have seven branches in Australasia, with six in Australia and one in New Zealand. The members in this area make up approximately 4 per cent of the global STEP membership.
A regional body, STEP Australia, was established to coordinate the activities of the Australian branches.
- Canada

We currently have 11 branches and chapters in Canada. The members in this region make up approximately 14 per cent of the global STEP membership.
A regional body, STEP Canada, has been established to coordinate the activities and membership of the Canadian branches and chapters. STEP Canada has its own Board of Directors, and a regional secretariat in Toronto with eight staff. It also runs its own educational programmes and hosts its own website, www.step.ca
- Europe

We have 20 branches and one chapter in Europe. Members in Europe represent 13 per cent of the global STEP membership, of which 8 per cent are in Switzerland.
The STEP Europe Regional Committee represents the interests of members of branches/chapters in Austria, Benelux, Cyprus, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malta, Monaco and Spain.
The Swiss and Liechtenstein STEP Federation (SLSF) represents the interests of members of branches/centres in Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Zurich, Vaduz, Lugano and Lucerne/Zug.
- Crown Dependencies

We have three branches in the UK Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. The members in these branches make up approximately 12 per cent of the global STEP membership.
- Caribbean and LatAm

We have 16 branches and chapters in the Caribbean and Latin America region. The members in this region make up approximately 8 per cent of the global STEP membership.
The region has a representative body, the Caribbean and Latin America Regional Committee, which represents the interests and concerns of members in the area.
- UK and Ireland

We have 27 branches across the UK and Ireland. UK and Ireland members make up approximately 36 per cent of the global STEP membership.
The England and Wales Regional Committee oversees the strategic direction of STEP in England and Wales. Its sub-committee, the UK Technical Committee examines technical and practice issues affecting members, contributing consultation responses and guidance for members.
- USA

We have 17 branches and chapters in the USA. The members in this region make up approximately 4 per cent of the global STEP membership.
A regional body, STEP USA, has been established to coordinate activities and grow membership across the USA branches and chapters.
